Senior Vice President of H.U.M.A.N. Services
Dustin is the Senior Vice President of HUMAN Services at McKinley, bringing 20 years in social services that began as a child care worker in residential treatment settings and grew through roles as therapist, supervisor, director, and executive leader. Grounded in both clinical practice and operational discipline, he is known for building quality programs that run on strong compliance and innovative clinical tools—using data, dashboards, and streamlined workflows to help teams deliver excellent care without unnecessary burden. Dustin holds an MBA (Cal State LA), a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Master of Divinity (Fuller Theological Seminary), pairing systems-level business thinking with deep commitments to ethical leadership and whole-person care.
In his current scope, Dustin oversees Mental Health services (including Full Service Partnership, LA County Jail Mental Health, outpatient, school-linked, domestic violence, and 0–5 programming), McKinley’s Short-Term Residential Treatment Program, and the nationwide Home Study and Post Release program supporting unaccompanied children after their federal care. His work is defined by growth, integration, and change: over the last five years he has helped double McKinley’s mental health footprint, expanded into additional programs and regions to diversify services and funding, strengthened outcomes and audit readiness practices, and guided teams through major programmatic and legislative shifts. Earlier in his career he led complex services in downtown Los Angeles through Wraparound, Outpatient, and Family Preservation services and helped teams adopt measurement-based tools that supported treatment planning and performance improvement.
Dustin’s leadership philosophy reflects McKinley’s HUMAN values through an approach that is standards-driven and deeply people-centered. He believes the healthiest programs are built by healthy teams: when teams feel heard, connected to the mission, and supported with clear expectations, outcomes rise and culture strengthens. His decision-making style is collaborative and curious, intentionally creating space for questions and shared solutions—especially during periods of change, where openness, comprehensive planning, and consistent communication protect staff stewardship and client stability.
A South Dakota native who came to California for graduate school and “couldn’t leave the sun,” Dustin recharges with movies and cycling—while remaining a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan, even when they make that loyalty… professionally challenging. Above all, he is driven by a steady purpose: to build durable, compliant, high-quality systems that honor clients’ dignity, support staff well-being, and strengthen the communities we live in.
